Objective
Design and build the first iteration of the flagship product for the company. The app will also be the main driver in research for training the AI that will eventually be the center of the user experience.

How it Works Overview
Cens:ai works with a heart rate sensor to measure HRV and use it to calculate Heart Coherence as well as arousal (stresses). The users metrics are calculated second-to-second to allow for real-time metrics at all times.
- EPI (Evolve Power Index): A higher score means more emotional alignment and heart coherence.
- SI (Stress Intensity): A higher score means more nervous system activation—either from stress or stimulation.
The homescreen shows both metrics in real-time. EPI is shown with a white line and a fill along a center line. The farther above the center line their EPI is, the more in coherence they are. Below the line means they are out of coherence. SI is shown with a yellow line.
Check-ins and setting a daily intention
Each morning, users are prompted to do a quick check-in. Users are asked how rested they are feeling, how focused they are feeling, how negatively stressed they are, and what their outlook is on their day. They are also encouraged to add what factors are affecting those emotions. Lastly, they are asked to set a daily intention.

Users are prompted at the start and end of each day to begin their check-in.

The user uses a slider to identify how rested, focused and stressed they are.

Setting a daily intention is a proven way to increase focus and reduce stress.

Summary Screen includes any tags they added to each step of the check-in.
Daily coherence meditations
Cens:ai comes with 5 different soundscapes designed specifically for getting your heart into coherence. Each theme comes with soothing ambient sounds, audio cues for inhaling and exhaling to keep you on pace with your breathing and a visual breath pacer. Stats are displayed in real-time to keep the user focused and on track. Once each session is completed, the user adds how they are feeling, which helps to reinforce the benefits of the session.

Learning from the data
The Insights section of the app is currently filled with several different charts designed to show the user trends within their day, week, and month. Most of these charts will be replaced by AI based summaries.

Main Insights Screen shows a full day summary of their morning and evening checkins, how well they followed their intention, and a day view of each of the key user metrics.

EPI Details shows a weekly and monthly view of their daily average EPI, Net Time in the Green, and EPI Zone Breakdowns.

SI Details shows a weekly and monthly view of their daily average SI, Net Time Stressed and Balanced, and SI Zone Breakdowns.
Chart Examples

Daily Net views help the user to understand details that a daily average might miss.

For crowded month views, the user can long press on a day to see the details for that day.

Breakdown charts show the user which zones they are spending the most time in as well as the corresponding tags for each of those zones. For example, Roller Skating tends to correlate with a high EPI.

Comparison charts show the user how their morning and evening check-ins relate to their metrics.
Community Feed and Friends
The community is meant to be a place where users can see the activities of their friends, including check-ins, meditations and other activity recordings. The goal being to add a layer of accountability for staying on track, as well as a space where users can see if a friend is down and could use a little boost.

Post Types
Users can post a variety of different check-ins and activities. Users are also able to hide any posts from their feed if they choose.

Conclusion
Cens:ai helps users become better versions of themselves while also moving emotion detection research forward. The daily check-ins and meditations keep users engaged on a daily basis. Automated (calendar integrations) and user initiated activity recordings help users see how different interactions affect their emotions and the insights explains those connections, while also collecting user data to be used in resarch. Cens:ai should be available in the Apple App Store this summer.
